Needless to say, I was flabbergasted. But then I realized that maybe the Meanies were put in my life to build character. (Steve Redmond, I am talking to you!) Perhaps my grammar school experiences made me wiser and stronger than anyone expected. When I returned home, I wrote the following to remind myself of my worth to those who know me...
I am a survivor.
I am funny, not funny looking.
I love with my whole heart.
I am not invisible. I am not your target. I do not need, nor do I seek, your approval. I am amazing. I am beautiful. I am intelligent. I am Margie and I am real.
I hope everyone who reads this will remember that everything we experience affects the person we become. Even the awful builds character.
