Determined to use this as a learning experience, I have decided to "up my game." Part of my strategy involves going back to the old school way of editing on paper. Paper? Yup. Instead of being confident that I can do a thorough edit (or copy edit) on a computer screen, I have been printing the books and going through them line by line on paper. What a difference it has made! I can say my accuracy has improved immensely, and my authors are very pleased. Sure, it takes a little bit longer, but if the results are better, isn't it worth it?
Lesson learned, let's back to work!
